The Fountainhead is my all time favorite book. I have read and studied it atleast 3 times. And everytime I read the book, I get more inspired by the protagonist, Howard Roark.
The novel was written in 1943 by Ayn Rand. It shows that she was light years ahead of her generation. According to wikipedia, it was Rand's first major literary success and its royalties and movie rights brought her fame and financial security. The book's title is a reference to Rand's statement that "man's ego is the fountainhead of human progress".
